ShiftKey Academy organizes monthly courses on trending topics in the tech industry. Each month, we select a relevant topic and bring in an expert instructor to lead the course. Our courses are designed to be beginner-friendly and, in most cases, require no prior knowledge to join. Our goal is to introduce participants to new topics, providing a solid foundation to help them take their next steps in learning and career development.
Who can join ShiftKey Academy UP courses, and how much does it cost?
Anyone can join! ShiftKey Academy Up courses are open to everyone, whether you’re a Dalhousie student or not. Our courses are free to attend, with only a few exceptions. We strive to make our programs as accessible and inclusive as possible. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us!
How can a ShiftKey Academy UP certificate help me?
Our mission is to help more people break into the tech industry. We carefully select course topics based on industry trends and demand to ensure participants gain relevant skills. Adding a ShiftKey Academy Up certification to your resume can help your profile stand out during job applications, and more importantly, our courses equip you with the knowledge and confidence to succeed in your future role.
What are the requirements to pass a course and receive a certification?
Each ShiftKey Academy Up course consists of four weekly classes and a final assessment. To qualify for a certification, you must attend at least three out of the four classes and pass the final assessment. We’re confident that if you engage with the course and put in the effort, you’ll be able to successfully complete it!
Can I add my certification to LinkedIn?
Absolutely! ShiftKey Academy Up certifications come with a unique tracking number and can be easily added to your resume and LinkedIn profile. We highly encourage you to showcase your certifications—it’s a great way to highlight your new skills! Make sure you select ShiftKey from the drop down menu so the logo shows up.
