Responsible AI for Business Leaders
This course empowers business leaders – both current and aspiring – to critically evaluate and implement artificial intelligence (AI) technologies ethically and responsibly. With a focus on real-world applications, learners will explore the impact of AI on fairness, transparency, accountability, and privacy in business contexts.
Course Information
Course Details
- Duration: 10 Weeks.
- Format: Semi-synchronous, 15–20 hours total.
- Delivery: video lectures, readings, case studies, and practical assignments.
- Weekly assessments.
- Assignments & a Capstone Project.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the program, learners will be able to:
- Understand foundational AI concepts in a business context.
- Identify ethical risks in AI systems.
- Evaluate AI governance frameworks and ethical principles.
- Develop strategies for responsible AI implementation.
- Communicate ethical AI policies internally and externally.
- Align AI initiatives with compliance and public trust.
Assessment and Credentials
- Weekly participation and submissions (80% required).
- Completion of a Capstone Project.
- Issuance of a micro-credential upon successful completion.

Instructor
Dr. Frank Rudzicz
Frank Rudzicz is a Full Professor at Dalhousie University, original faculty member at the Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence, status professor at the University of Toronto, Killam Memorial Chair, and Canada CIFAR Chair in Artificial Intelligence. His work is in machine learning in healthcare, especially in natural language processing, speech technologies, and AI safety. His students have founded several companies in AI and Health that have had successful exits, including Winterlight Labs and Mutuo Health Solutions. His research has appeared in popular media such as Scientific American, Wired, CBC, and the New York Times, and in scientific press such as ACL, NeurIPS, JAMA, and Nature.
