Introduction to Git Tutorial (Repeat)

Wednesday, February 28th @ 7:15 pm9:00 pm

Free

Git is great at keeping you organized on any program you write. It helps teams work together on larger projects.  Companies like Google, Facebook, Microsoft and Twiter all use Git for their projects, and there are lots of websites out there that make Git even easier to configure and connect with others.  Git is used on the command line, so it may not be flashy, but a lot of IDE’s and GUI’s make it super easy to work with.  I think it’s still a good idea to go over how Git works on the command line, and that’s all we will be going over in the lab.

Come with your computer, and try to have git installed. You don’t need github desktop, or a github account for this lab, but it might help for your own projects in the future.

Here are some instructions on how to install Git on your computer (Windows/Mac/Linux): http://web.cs.dal.ca/~raphael/GetGit
